Fun Play: A Designer’s Real-World Review
Practical Designer Notes You’ll Actually Use
- Test Fun Play in pure black and white first—no color, no effects. Does it hold shape? Does spacing feel even?
- Print a mockup at actual size: a business card, a sticker sheet, a product label. Screen rendering lies.
- Compare uppercase vs. lowercase usage side-by-side. Uppercase reads stronger in logos and signage; lowercase adds nuance in quotes or subheads.
- Check spacing rigorously. Fun Play benefits from modest tracking adjustments—especially in all-caps settings.
- Pair it intentionally: try it beside a serif font (for contrast and elegance), a clean sans serif (for balance), a restrained script font (for texture), and another display font (to gauge uniqueness).
- Confirm commercial licensing *before* client delivery. Not all “premium font” licenses cover merchandise, SaaS interfaces, or unlimited digital distribution.
